A commercial huh? How exciting! Melody had been really excited with her surge in popularity. She was still in a bit of disbelief she was even chosen to become a gym leader but it seemed like the league thought she was the best candidate for it. She had a lot to prove so she had been recently working nonstop, trying her best in everything she's been doing and applying herself even harder than before. It was exhausting but she made sure NO one could read it on her face. She was asked to film a commercial for the league, they hadn't really told her what she'd be saying or doing but she knew it was important to the league so she agreed with no hesitation if it were to help them. She showed up to the dressing room where she saw a rather extravagant outfit ready for her to wear. She got into her costume, a beautiful black and white dress with gold accessories to serve as the accent for the dress. Once she was ready she walked onto the set as she waited for her instructions on what to do. Little did she know someone else who was important to the league was going to be joining her for the commercial.

Fernando is no stranger to stylists. He doesn’t so much as bat an eye as an audiobook plays over his makeup sesson. Pokemon Species Native to Galar: Fourth Edition, a study into the ecology of the Galar region. It goes over several species with almost a textbook like approaches, listing their abilities and possible movesets.

By the time Fernando’s face is deemed acceptable, they’ve review two specie’s lines.

His attire is fine. He refuses to switch to anything short of business professional. A well-pressed suit, dry cleaned, immaculate in design. He fits a small handkerchief into his breast pocket before moving onto the set.

Commercials are rare and few between but not unheard of. It’s about time for their quarterly advertisements for the Gym Circuit.

In melody's area for getting ready for the commercial she had some songs playing as she hummed them along, her corsola shuffling around the chair as if she was dancing to the music playing for melody. "Corsola make sure you don't get in anyone's way hun." she said keeping an eye on her when possible. Corsoloa let out a small joyful cheer as she spun in place, melody let out a sigh as it seemed she was super pumped for this commercial. Once they were done they gestured melody towards the set where they'd tell her what to say. She saw that someone else was starring with her, a really famous person she hadn't had the chance to meet yet. [break][break]

She was nervous at first, she had heard some rumors from tabloids and seedy sources so surely they shouldn't be true right? She wondered...but then quickly gave that up as it was pointless, it was better for her to just go straight up to him and figure it out for herself. She looked him up and down for a few seconds offering a warm kind smile "You're suit is lovely." she said as she extended her hand for a hand shake "I'm melody miro, it's a pleasure to meet you."

Fernando greets her with as much of a smile as he can muster. Polite at face value but well worn enough that those closest to him will be familiar with it being only a courtesy. “The stylist do an impeccable job of pairing outfits that compliment the actresses natural beauty. Quite stunning, if I do say so myself.”

He extends a hand, “The new Gym Leader of Sootopolis? Silph, Fernando Silph. Slateport. The pleasure is mine, Miss Miro.”

"The very one!" She said nervously as she leaned on her left leg and moved her hands out to the side, in a "tadaaaa" sort of motion. "I agree, they did quite a good job on us both if I must say. Also, flattery will get you everywhere with me Mr. Silph." She said with a sly grin on her face, however she would be lying to herself if she didn't say that Fernando was quite an intimidating presence. Not because he was doing anything strange but because she knew where she stood compared to him socially. She tried to swallow the nervousness and appear calm on the outside hoping Fernando wouldn't notice before the director cut back to the pair and handed them both their scripts for the commercial. [break][break]

She read over her script, it seemed pretty basic in nature. They were basically going to be announcing melody as the new gym leader for a Sootopolis so the stylist choose a dazzling outfit to show her off and wow the crowd. Most of the speaking was going to be done by fernando though since he was the figure that most people recognized "Do they make you do this kind of stuff often? being on stage is one thing but being on tv is new for me.." She didn't watch very much of tv.

Consider it appreciation, if you will.” A small grimace lines his face as he starts to rain on her parade. However, as he finishes his statement, he quirks a mirror image of her smile, more muted in comparison but the gesture bleeding through his resting bitch face. “Which makes the compliment that much more impactful. You look good.”

“Thank you,” he repeats to the director as he’s given the script. A cursory look over briefs him on his speaking lines. The rest he can ad-lib.

“Only when they can’t book anyone else. That, or if it’s something technical and boring. I seem to handle those quite well.” Stagehands shuffle in the background as the set is stage. They’re given a few more moments before they have to get into place as well.

“This is mostly mean to be motivational and introduce yourself to the world. Believe in what you represent and speak from the heart. Confidence will make your speech more presentable than anything a writer can cook up.”

"Ahhh, so that's what you mean." she said as he clarified what he meant, honestly, melody didn't realize that flattery was meant to be derogatory she thought it was synonymous to a compliment. Good thing she didn't use such fancy language all the time lest she insulted someone by accident. "You have quite a ways with words." she smiled as she struggled to fill the awkward silence, the butterflies in her stomachs managing to create a lot of white noise in her mental landscape. [break][break]

"I see." she said as he some stage hands came up to do a quick touch up to her make up as Fernando went on to answer her question. "So was this by choice then orrrr?" she asked plainly trying to understand the situation further. As she analyzed the script, as Fernando spoke. Speak from the heart? Those words stung a bit to her, she recently had talked to Remiel about her history growing up and wondered if speaking from the heart would cause people to dislike her for it. "Looks like you go first addressing the viewers, then announce me as the doors open and I come out from the top of those stairs." she said pointing to the set, it was all white for the most part with a grand glass staircase for her to descend downwards towards the camera. "Break a leg! Wait do they even say that on tv sets or is that only for theater? Regardless, let's knock this out of the park" she said offering him some encouragement and trying to spread some joy.

Fernando gives her a curt nod as they’re called upon to get into position. He stands at the center of the stage, already on-set as the casting crew counts down the take. Bright lights flare up and a clapper snaps on cue.

“Trainers! Where is the summit in where you realize your dreams? What is the end goal of your aspirations?”

Fernando readjusts his tie, loosening it as his voice grows louder.

“For those that wish to have all other recognize their efforts, our destination is the same: to become Champion!”

“But the path to Champion is not an easy one. Trainers must be strong, skilled, and prove their abilities every step of the way.”

“Throughout the region, excellent trainers recognized by their communities hold the responsibility of testing hopeful trainers and accrediting their efforts. Today, the city of Sootopolis has found someone they believe in.”

“No stranger to the spotlight, Sootopolis’ new Gym Leader is someone ready to cement her place as a rising star. Introducing, Sootopolis Gym Leader, Melody Miro!”

The camera pans to up the staircase and onto her entrance.
